Target Student

This course is designed for ambitious professionals seeking to elevate their project management skills and career trajectory. Our target students stem from diverse industries, embodying roles from experienced project managers to those transitioning into the field. They share a passion for continual learning, problem-solving, and professional growth. These individuals understand that a PMP® certification is more than a title—it's a globally recognized testament to their expertise, practical skills, and commitment to ethical conduct.

Pre-requisites

To attend our PMP® Certification Training Course, there are no specific prerequisites - anyone interested in advancing their project management skills can enroll. However, please note that the Project Management Institute (PMI)® sets stringent requirements for those who wish to sit for the PMP® certification exam. To be eligible, candidates must:

  • either hold a four-year degree (or equivalent) with three years (or 4,500 hours) of project management experience,
  • or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with five years (or 7,500 hours) of such experience.

Applicants must possess substantial experience in leading and overseeing projects. According to the PMBOK® Guide, a project is a limited-time venture aimed at creating a distinct product, service, or outcome.

Moreover, candidates must have accumulated a minimum of 35 contact hours in formal project management education, unless they currently hold a CAPM® certification. Active CAPM® certification holders are exempted from this requirement and need not provide documentation for the 35 contact hours. In other words, their project management education prerequisite is effectively waived.

Our course is designed to fulfill this educational prerequisite, but the candidate must meet the experience requirement.

You may find that the CAPM® certification path is a better match if you are not eligible.

Understanding the PMP® Certification Exam

The PMP® Certification Exam is crucial to earning the globally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential. This rigorous assessment, developed and administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®, tests your understanding of key project management concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

The exam comprises 180 multiple-choice questions, to be completed within 230 minutes. It covers three domains: People (42%), Process (50%), and Business Environment (8%).

As for the cost, PMI® members pay $405, while non-members are charged $555. This fee covers one attempt; resit fees apply if necessary. Please note, membership with PMI® is $139 per year and includes numerous benefits apart from reduced exam fees.

To book the PMP® exam, you'll need to complete an online application on PMI's official website, www.pmi.org. This application includes detailing your education and project management experience. After PMI® approves your application, you'll receive an invitation to schedule your exam.

Sitting the PMP® exam

The PMP® exam includes a total of 180 questions, out of which 5 are pretest questions. These pretest questions, used to evaluate the validity of future exam queries, do not contribute to your final score and are interspersed randomly throughout the test. To see the types of questions on the exam, please visit the PMP Exam Updates page on PMI's website.

The total time given to finish the test at the center is 230 minutes, but it might take some candidates less than the full time to complete it.

The exam is broken up by two 10-minute breaks, introduced after you finish and review answers for questions 1-60 and 120, respectively. Once you initiate a break after reviewing your answers, you cannot return to the previous exam section. After each break, you will resume the exam with the remaining time to finish the remaining questions.

Before the exam starts, there is an optional tutorial, and post-exam, there is an optional survey. Each takes 5-15 minutes and does not count towards the total exam time of 230 minutes.

The PMP® Certification Exam is challenging, but with adequate preparation, it is achievable. Expect to demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and experience in leading and directing projects. In our course, we'll equip you with all necessary tools and techniques to confidently approach the exam.
