Fostering teamwork is creating a work culture that values collaboration. In a teamwork environment, people understand and believe that thinking, planning, decisions, and actions are better when done cooperatively. People recognize, and even assimilate, the belief that none of us is as good as all of us. You will not build teamwork simply by retreating as a group for a couple of days each year. Rather, this team building event must be viewed as the building blocks where the team building becomes something you do every single day.
This workshop is aimed at bringing the workforce together, raising the work spirit, and strengthening relationships within the workplace. It is therefore designed for individual teams and their line managers.
None.
Instructor-led, group-paced.
By the end of today, delegates will be able to:
Teams are complex machines and it's not surprising that they malfunction occasionally or need re-alignment or team building.
To work effectively you need agreement on exactly what sort of team you are: what are the goals, what is each member's role, who needs to work closely with whom, and what the game plan should be?
It is important that this event is also set in the context of the wider organizational objectives: In a team-oriented environment, you contribute to the overall success of the organization. You work with fellow members of the organization to produce these results. Even though you have a specific job function and you belong to a specific department, you are unified with other organization members to accomplish the overall objectives. The bigger picture drives your actions; your function exists to serve the bigger picture
This tailor-made team-building event will allow you to do this by taking some time away from the workplace to enable you to take stock of where the team is now and perhaps work on some re-positioning. On the first day, through discussion, brainstorming, gameplay, role play, and goal setting, we work to sort out problems, put forward new ideas, plan the future, look at the team's 'purpose', 'vision' and 'mission' and learn more about each other as people. Team members will enjoy a fresh perspective, achieve a sense of focus, build confidence and prepare themselves for the workplace.
This team event will have a positive effect on the morale, motivation, confidence, and effectiveness of the team and its individual members that will immediately transfer to the workplace.
The content of day one, followed by some time back in the workplace would enable a second follow-up event to take place, after an agreed period of time. This would allow the team to measure progress towards goals set. Again, we would use a combination of discussion, brainstorming, games, role play, and some further goal setting.
This team-building event would be created from your specific brief and will be tailor-made by working closely with your company to ensure the most appropriate program.
